March To The Beat Of Your Own Drum (Playlist)

March To The Beat of Your Own Drum

You’ve waited patiently and I have heard the request for more playlists on spotify. This past month I tried to overload myself and have been working on three to four playlists. To try and compensate for more music I won’t be doing track to track commentary as it’s too time consuming if I’m looking to try and drop a playlist once a week.  But enough let’s get on with the show.

As a young child I’d go through these phases where I pledged my loyalty to one genre in music and every other genre was garbage in my eyes. With rap to punk till one day I realized it was better to give all music a chance. Maybe I don’t like all country but I like country music. The radio limits your opportunity to explore the best genres have to give.

This playlist we go with some great rock bands like TV on The Radio and Golden Fly Eagle. Alabama Shakes, Sonny Knights & The Lakers, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils and EXGF are back again after February’s playlist. We see jazz being experimented in Top 40 Pop songs done by Scott Bradlee & The Post Modern Jukebox to the jazz group Badbadnotgood recording with Ghostface Killah. You’ll hear Americana band Hollis Brown’s take on one of the tracks off Velvet Underground’s classic Loaded album.

Speaking of Hollis Brown, Bob Dylan had a song called Hollis Brown.

You can hear Jesse Fuller, a great influence on Dylan when he traveled out West to Colorado, featured on this playlist. You’ll hear new tracks from My Morning Jacket and Muse’s upcoming albums and a track of Arcade Fire’s Will Butler’s new solo album.  There’s a band of Bee’s, flying Burrito Brothers, average white guys, phony ppl, to Doctors and other brothers. All Marching to the beat of their own drums. I give you a March To The Beat of Your Own Drum Playlist.  And don’t forget to follow me so you can always have access to great music.
