Autumn is upon us and there’s nothing I enjoy more than sitting with my windows wide open letting the cool night breeze in. You know me, so you know music is coming out of those speakers. Autumn is a time where things start to slow down and there’s nothing better than some good tunes on a cool Autumn night. Everyone needs a relaxing autumn playlist. I’d like to share the playlist I’ve been unwinding to most nights. A playlist inspired by Autumn.
It’s a pretty clean split between some new music and old music. In it we have the old favorites like Richie Havens, Eric Clapton, Taj Mahal, JJ Cale (famous for writing some of Clapton’s biggest hits like Cocaine or After Midnight) Al Green, Hall & Oates, Lou Reed and Chett Baker. Then we have some new artists who I’ve fallen under a spell for: Nathaniel Rateliff (solo and with his band the Night Sweats) John Moreland, a Tulsa boy who I had the pleasure of seeing last week at Off Broadway (check out if he’s playing near you), he was playing with another native Oklahoman JD McPherson, who you may remember from the February Playlist. The Districts who were in January’s playlist show back up, Aaron Freeman of Ween is here with a song from his new solo album, and I couldn’t resist one of Ryan Adam’s new songs from his Taylor Swift 1989 cover album.
Hosting a wine party? Want to relax after a hard days work or just snuggle next to your partner? Look no further than this relaxing playlist. If you enjoyed this playlist make sure to follow me on Spotify for more playlists
